Terms of Service

Effective Date: September 1, 2026 · Last updated: September 16, 2026

1. Platform Overview

Rubid Digital Marketplace provides an online technology platform connecting shoppers with independent, verified kirana stores. Rubid operates as a marketplace intermediary under Section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000. Rubid is neither the buyer nor the direct seller of products transacted between shoppers and independent merchants.

2. Reverse-Bidding Marketplace Mechanics

  • Basket Submission: Shoppers may submit grocery lists by manual text entry or through photographs of handwritten notes via our AI Parchi Scanner. Shoppers are responsible for confirming item descriptions and quantities before broadcasting their basket.
  • Merchant Bidding: Verified merchants within the user's specified radius may inspect the basket and submit binding price quotes during the open bidding window.
  • Bid Acceptance: Once a shopper accepts a merchant's bid, a binding contract of sale is formed directly between the shopper and the winning kirana store.

3. Kirana Merchant Terms

Store owners participating in the Rubid marketplace agree to:

  • Pass manual on-ground onboarding and verification by the Rubid partner operations team.
  • Submit authentic bids reflecting genuine retail stock, without hidden fees or surprise surcharges.
  • Fulfil accepted orders within agreed timelines, offering either queue-free in-store pickup or local doorstep delivery.
  • Pay Rubid's transparent success commission only on completed, satisfied orders. No listing fees, upfront tech spend, or monthly recurring subscriptions apply.

4. Payments & Payouts

Payments are processed securely in-app using authorized banking partners. Shopper funds are held in escrow and disbursed directly to the merchant's verified bank account upon order delivery or handover confirmation.

5. Product Quality & Substitutions

Kirana partners are solely responsible for ensuring that goods sold are unexpired, properly packaged, and meet Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) requirements. If an item is out of stock, merchants must communicate substitutions via the in-app chat before order dispatch.

6. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
